Tracking potential strong to severe storms Wednesday

Today: Temperatures continue to rise into the mid-50s with partly cloudy skies this afternoon. Winds remain out of the southeast at 8-12 mph.

Tonight: Overnight lows cool towards the 50 degree mark as a few spotty showers enter the region to the north of highway 70.

Extended: Early Wednesday morning after 4 am, showers and storms will pull into the region to the southwest becoming widespread by 8 am. The main risks associated with these storms will be strong to damaging winds, isolated hail, and heavy downpours. The greatest chance to see stronger to severe storms exists between 10am-3pm. Rainfall totals range from 0.5" to 1.5". Showers and storms exit the region to the northeast after 4 pm. Temperatures look to cool into the second half of the week with winds out of the northwest. Chances of rain increase once again heading into the upcoming weekend.
