Tracking a wind shift that brings warmth this weekend

TODAY: Clouds are moving out this morning, leaving us cold, dry, and clear to start the day. Expect temperatures to climb from the teens and 20s, well into the 30s and near 40 under sunny skies. Winds will be light and from the northwest from the northwest this morning, before turning from the southwest late this afternoon.

TONIGHT: Skies stay clear until about sunrise, when high clouds arrive Saturday morning. Temperatures fall again into the 20s, but not as cool as early Friday.

EXTENDED: Southwest winds on Saturday boost temperatures into the 50s despite some increase in clouds through the day. Clouds will thicken by late afternoon, bringing a chance for a few sprinkles around 7-8 p.m. Sunday is a bit warmer with continued southwest flow and more sunshine, bringing temps to near 60. Warmth continues with partly cloudy skies Monday and Tuesday, with rain chances just missing us to the south and east on Tuesday. Another push of moisture arrives on Wednesday, and this time, it brings a chance for rain to all of mid-Missouri. Some thunder may accompany this, but little details are available at this point. Behind this system, we may remain breezy on Thursday.
