Tracking rain, mix, and snow overnight into tomorrow morning

TONIGHT: Rain late, with freezing rain possible before sunrise for areas north of I-70. The wintry mix changes over to snow for the northern half of the area into Thursday morning, leaving a glaze of ice and up to 1" of slushy snow. Lows in the low to mid-30s.

TOMORROW: Snow showers early, especially along and north of the I-70 corridor. Gusty winds up to 25 mph with highs in the mid-upper 30s.

EXTENDED: Showers move in tonight as low pressure works through the area, but as temperatures drop across the northern half of the state, we'll see a window for light freezing rain north of the I-70 corridor through dawn. This changes over to accumulating snow through afternoon for northern Missouri, with the highest and most impactful snow amounts staying to our north. There could be some slick spots from about Marshall up to Paris and points north through evening as temperatures drop into the upper teens to around 20 degrees by Friday morning. Snow amounts will be around a dusting to 1" from Columbia north. The rest of Thursday is cold with highs only making the mid-upper 30s. Friday will feature more sunshine and high temperatures breaking into the lower 40s. The weekend is looking nice with highs in the low to mid-50s Saturday. Saturday night, expect a few more clouds and perhaps a few showers as a weak disturbance rolls through. Sunday will be even warmer with highs near 60 and sunshine. Next week starts off mild in the upper 50s on Monday with rain chances toward the middle of the week.
