Section of Broadway closed for emergency water main repair

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Workers closed a section of E. Broadway in downtown Columbia Saturday night to repair a water main.

The roadwork between Ripley St. and College Ave., near Stephens College, started shortly before 7 p.m. and is expected to finish around 5 p.m. Sunday.

Both westbound lanes of E. Broadway will be closed during the repair.

Traffic slowed down in the area after crews began closing Broadway, according to ABC 17 News crews. The city asks drivers to avoid the area during the project.

Drivers headed west on E. Broadway can use Ripley St. as a detour.
