Astros celebrate, Cubs-Cardinals in London mark schedule

CHICAGO (AP) — Baseball’s 2023 season begins with another celebration for the Houston Astros, and Jacob deGrom returns to New York on another big day on this year’s major league schedule. The Astros host the White Sox on opening day in their first home game since they beat Philadelphia for the title last year. DeGrom goes back to Citi Field in August after the former Mets ace signed a $185 million, five-year contract with Texas over the winter. Willson Contreras returns to Wrigley Field with the St. Louis Cardinals, and the All-Star Game is in Seattle for the first time since 2001.
