Mizzou falls on the road to Mississippi State in lowest scoring game all season
STARVILLE, Ms. (KMIZ)
The Mizzou men's basketball team took a road loss to Mississippi State 63-52 Saturday in the Tigers lowest scoring game this season.
The Tigers are now 2-4 on the road after shooting just 31% from the field and 23% from three in the loss.
After coming off a 26 assist game against LSU, Mizzou only managed to put together 10 assists against the Bulldogs. MU also had 15 turnovers, their most in an SEC game.
Three Tigers ended the day in double-figures led by DeAndre Gholston with 12 points and a team-high four assists. D'Moi Hodge had 11 points, seven rebounds and three steals, while Kobe Brown added 10 points and seven boards. Mohamed Diarra had a team-high 10 rebounds.
Mizzou not only struggled shooting from the field, but as the SEC's best free-three team, Mizzou missed a few needed foul shots down the line shooting 14 of 21.
Mississippi State was led by Tolu Smith with 25 points and 12 rebounds. The Bulldogs managed to lead the game for the entire 40 minutes of play.
Up next - Mizzou will return home to take on South Carolina Tuesday at 8 p.m.
