Missouri Attorney General Bailey to run in 2024
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey is running for a full term in office. The Republican announced his candidacy Monday. Bailey took office earlier this month. Gov. Mike Parson appointed him to replace Eric Schmitt as attorney general after Schmitt was elected to the U.S. Senate last year. Bailey previously worked as the top lawyer in Parson’s office. He might already have competition. Republican Will Scharf is campaigning for an unspecified statewide office in 2024. Scharf is a former assistant U.S. attorney and adviser to former Gov. Eric Greitens. Scharf gave $500,000 to his campaign in December.
