Tracking a wet end to the weekend, more snow by midweek

TODAY: Low pressure slowed overnight, keeping flurries in the area through the early morning. Overall accumulations have remained low, and only ornamental flakes or light raindrops are expected the rest of Sunday. Temperatures will rise to the upper 30s to aid in clearing off any slushy pavement, and road conditions will remain good today.

TOMORROW: Seasonal with clouds making a brief exit. Highs in the lower 40s.

EXTENDED: Late Tuesday night into Wednesday is our next big chance for widespread snow. The highest totals as of now are trending to the SE part of Missouri, but if that shifts, we could see higher amounts. Several inches of accumulation are expected into Wednesday, with the lowest forecast amounts still indicating measurable snowfall. Temperatures do currently look to warm above freezing Wednesday, which could introduce a chance for wintry mix during the day. Changes are still likely with this forecast so stay tuned as we head closer to midweek.
