KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Kansas City Chiefs overcame a rollercoaster ride of an afternoon at Arrowhead Stadium with a 27-20 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday. With the win, KC will advance to the AFC Championship game.

Chiefs fans sat with a lot of concern at halftime, as quarterback Patrick Mahomes was ruled as questionable with ankle injury. The injury came as the first quarter was winding down and a Jacksonville player fell straight down on Mahomes' ankle. Trainers took Mahomes out of the game and into the locker room for evaluation.

In that time, backup quarterback Chad Henne led Kansas City on a 98 yard, 12-play drive down the field for a touchdown pass to Travis Kelce, his second TD reception of the day.

After halftime, Mahomes returned to the game. He finished the game 22-30 for 195 yards and two touchdowns.

It was a big day for the tight end Travis Kelce. He broke a six-game streak with no touchdowns with two in the Divisional Round. He had 14 receptions for 98 yards in the win.

Up next - Kansas City will either face Buffalo or Cincinnati in the AFC Championship on Jan. 29.
