Tracking a chilly Friday ahead of weekend snow

TODAY: Winds continue from the west-northwest today, and clouds may be stubborn. This combo keeps us in the 30s for highs, though areas that see more sunshine could reach the 40 mark.

TONIGHT: Skies clear overnight, allowing temperatures to fall into the 20s.

EXTENDED: Saturday will start with better chances of sunshine before overcast skies make a quick return. Winds will turn southerly, giving us a chance at low 40s for highs before precipitation moves in late. This will likely lead to an onset of light rain Saturday night, before a transition to snow as temperatures fall. As of the latest data, the best chances for snow will be for areas along and north of I-70. For more details on snow totals, check out our latest Insider Blog. Sunday could see clouds stick around, leading to isolated light precip falling as drizzle or flurries. Sunshine returns briefly Monday before another round of precip heading into midweek.
