Notre Dame coach Mike Brey will be stepping down at the end of this season. The school made the announcement Thursday. The 63-year-old Brey has won 481 games since taking the Fighting Irish job in July 2000. Both his victory total and 23-year tenure are school records. Notre Dame went from stagnant program to NCAA Tournament regular. Brey also helped the Fighting Irish emerge as a title contender in two different conferences. After ending a five-year tourney drought last year, Notre Dame has struggled to a 9-8 record this season and is 1-5 in Atlantic Coast Conference games.
