Tracking rain moving in overnight into Wednesday

TONIGHT: Increasing clouds with showers moving in before daybreak. Lows in the mid-30s with gusty winds up to 20 mph.

TOMORROW: Showers likely and windy with easterly winds gusting up to 30 mph at times. Rain amounts between 0.5" and 0.75".

EXTENDED:  I'm tracking an increase in clouds tonight with winds starting to pick up ahead of our next low pressure system that's out to our west. Showers move in before daybreak and rain looks to continue through much of the day tomorrow. Showers start thin out by early evening, leaving us with about 0.5" to 0.75" of rain. Colder air moves in overnight, with precipitation trying to wrap around low pressure to our northeast through early Thursday. A few flurries are possible, but we're largely just looking at a gray and breezy Thursday with highs near 40. We'll end the week with a bit more sunshine on Friday, but temperatures stay seasonable in the lower 40s. Over the weekend, I'll be tracking another system that could bring precipitation, but the exact path is still somewhat unclear. Right now I am leaning toward rain moving in on late Saturday afternoon or evening, with  the rain/snow line across northern Missouri, perhaps getting as far south as Highway 24 depending on temperatures. We could have a small window for snow in this area Saturday night, with precipitation exiting early Sunday morning. If there is any accumulation in this region, it would likely be light as temperatures are expected to get back above freezing again on Sunday. Next week continues to be chilly with highs in the 40s to start off.
