Tracking cold wind chills overnight, warmer weekend ahead

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with patchy fog. Lows in the lower 20s with wind chills in the mid-upper teens.

TOMORROW: Clouds gradually decrease with highs in the mid-30s. Wind chills in the mid-upper 20s.

EXTENDED: Road problems are not expected tonight as road temperatures are well above freezing. We'll remain mainly cloudy with some patchy fog, but it will be quite cold with lows falling into the mid-20s. Wind chills drop into the mid-upper teens and remain in the 20s for much of Friday as winds will be in the 10-15 mph range with a few 20 mph gusts. We'll see some late day sunshine, getting our temperatures into the mid-30s. Saturday morning is cold, but around our seasonal average in the low 20s, but more sunshine warms us into the mid-upper 40s. Sunday will be the better day to get outside with highs in the upper 50s before clouds roll in by evening ahead of overnight rain. A few thunderstorms are possible on Monday as a low pressure system sweeps across the Midwest, with about 1/2" rain possible. We'll get a break from rain on Tuesday, but showers return on Wednesday, bringing another half inch of rain. We'll cool down toward the end of next week with temperatures getting closer to average in the lower 40s by next weekend.
