Kristoffersen gets 1st win on ski from former rival Hirscher
GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany (AP) — Henrik Kristoffersen and Marcel Hirscher have now won a race together for the time since teaming up last summer. The Norwegian and the Austrian fought fierce battles in the men’s Alpine skiing World Cup for years. Kristoffersen switched his equipment supplier in the offseason as he joined the ski brand founded by his former rival and record-eight time overall champion. Hirscher retired in 2019. Kristoffersen says “first win for Van Deer-Red Bull. It’s a good one.” Kristoffersen won the race 1.22 seconds ahead of Manuel Feller of Austria. Olympic champion Clément Noël of France was third.
