Tracking a fantastic evening to ring in the new year
New Year's Eve: Partly cloudy skies with temperatures warming to the lower 50s. Isolated drizzle is possible by midnight but expect a dry night overall.
New Year's Day: Sunday sees more clouds thanks to an approaching warm front and conditions remain dry. This front will boost temperatures to the upper 50s.
Extended: The warm front lifts north Monday and brings our highs to near 60 through steady cloud cover. Showers and storms develop along an incoming cold front late Monday with storms becoming more prevalent by the afternoon/overnight hours. Heavier downpours and thunder are expected but the potential for stronger storms is unlikely in our area. Temperatures cool towards seasonal averages by the second half of next week with daily highs nearing the 40s.
