Tracking polar air moving in ahead of the holidays
TODAY: Winds will be much calmer today, but don't expect relief from chilly conditions. Highs reach the mid to upper 30s with mostly sunny skies throughout the day.
TOMORROW: Precipitation is likely early Monday, though accumulations look low. Our western counties will catch initial snow showers by early morning while light rain is possible further east. This trend continues into the afternoon as most of central Missouri receives light rain. Accumulations are overall low with a few tenths of an inch of precip possible.
EXTENDED: Temperatures will be the warmest for the entire week ahead on Monday, as we reach near 40 under wet conditions. Road temperatures will drop near freezing in some areas early Tuesday so remain aware of potential slick spots. A round of snow is possible sometime between late Wednesday and early Friday though forecast models do not currently agree on many details. Be prepared for extreme cold late week with daily highs in the teens and lows reaching single digits.
