Ashland police provide update on case of missing teen

ASHLAND, Mo. (KMIZ)
Ashland Police Chief Gabe Edwards said Monday that his department is still trying to find a 15-year-old girl who went missing Dec. 4.
Fliers regarding Emilee Dubes' appearance have been widely shared on social media platforms as her family and the organization Missouri Missing seek information on her whereabouts. Missouri Missing has planned a candlelight vigil for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Ashland.
Edwards said in a video posted on Instagram that Dubes apparently cut the screen of her bedroom window and ran away. The video included a plea from the girl's parents. Police have sought information on the girl's location.
Edwards said she was immediately entered into law enforcement databases but her case did not qualify for an Amber Alert of missing person advisory, citing the lack of information about her whereabouts or whom she is with.
Edwards said the department has followed up on leads nationwide. No evidence shows that she's in danger, he said, but as time goes by the chance of danger increases.
"If you are a parent you know this is terrifying for our family," Pete Anders, Emilee's father, said in the video. "And my priority is making sure Emilee comes home safe."
