Planned ‘Fun Factory’ development halted after owner sells site
Plans to renovate a historic Jefferson City factory into a multi-attraction amusement complex were put on hold after its owner sold the property.
Branded the “ISC Fun Factory,” the project was spearheaded by Raymond Latocki, the owner of Haunting Productions LLC.
“We had a couple banks looking at the project,” said Latocki. “The problem is that they were saying it was an unproven market. There’s nothing here like that.”
Latocki submitted a plan to the city’s Planning and Zoning Committee, intending to redevelop the 115-year-old factory at 1101 E. Capitol Ave., that once housed the International Shoe Company.
The committee unanimously approved the plans in late 2018, and the city council approved them in January.
“The owners decided that, ‘we’ve been looking at this long enough. We need to go ahead and get this building sold and move on,’ and that’s what they decided to do,” said Latocki. “We are going to be looking for another location to see if we can come across with some property, a new building and go from there.”
ABC 17 News is working to contact Delong Properties, the former owners of the ISC building, to find out the current owner.
