Tracking two rounds of rain for the holiday weekend

TODAY: Tuesday is another warm one, with temperatures climbing to near 60 for highs by the afternoon. Expect abundant sunshine, and a southwest breeze sustained anywhere from 5 to 10 mph.

TONIGHT: Winds relax overnight, but remain southerly. Skies remain mostly clear through the evening, but clouds will arrive early Wednesday morning. Temperatures fall into the low 30s.

EXTENDED: A high layer of clouds will be in place on Wednesday, but won't be thick enough to make us overcast. They will be a sign of things to come though, as Wednesday is our last pleasant day with temperatures near 60. A cold front will arrive on Thanksgiving, with showers ahead of it beginning in the morning hours. This and overcast skies will keep temperatures mild, and cooler; near 50 for a high on Thursday. Expect a moderate cooldown behind the front on Friday, with highs reaching upper 40s. We're beginning to see more clarity in the weekend as well, with good agreement in the data that another system is in fact on the way for the weekend. Really, sort of a part of the same upper level system, a surface low will approach from the southwest on Saturday, bringing a good chance at widespread rainfall. Between the two systems, it looks like we could pick up a quarter to a half of an inch of rain, with the best rain coming from the system on Saturday. The forecast trends drier to start next week.
