News organizations projected Wednesday that the Republican Party secured enough seats for a House majority.
However, the Democrats are still in control in the Senate thanks to the vice president's tie-breaking vote.
Both majorities are razor-thin. The parties are likely to have problems getting their agendas passed given how thin they are, not to mention the fact that different parties control each chamber.
