Tracking overnight showers and storms

Today: Winds will switch from the southwest to the northwest late this afternoon and evening as a strong cold front promotes showers and storms. Mid-Missouri can expect strong winds, isolated heavy rainfall, and thunder with tonight's system.

Tonight: Overnight lows cool dramatically as showers and storms continue to track to the southwest. Overnight lows cool to to mid-30s as wind gust up to 25 mph.

Extended: Rainfall is expected to exit the region early Friday morning by 8 am leading to slowly clearing sky conditions. Wind chills heading into the weekend mornings cool to the mid teens as highs struggle to surpass 40 degrees. Temperatures only reach the lower 40s next week with more chances of scattered showers heading into Monday afternoon and Tuesday.
