Top Oregon US House races too early to call

By CLAIRE RUSH

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Oregon’s three closest U.S. House races are still too early to call hours after early returns were released by the secretary of state. A toss-up in the 5th Congressional District and a closer-than-expected race in the 6th have Democrats battling to maintain their advantage in the state. The 4th is also still in play. Meanwhile incumbents in the state’s other three U.S. House races have won. Democrats maintain control of the 1st and 3rd Districts, both of which include parts of Portland, and the GOP keeps the sprawling 2nd, which covers nearly two-thirds of the state.
