Tracking much warmer temperatures all week
TONIGHT: Mostly clear with lows in the mid-40s.
TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and warmer with highs in the lower 70s.
EXTENDED: We'll be clear into the rest of tonight, dropping into the mid-40s. Sunshine returns tomorrow, but the upper pattern will bring southwesterly winds through much of the week. That allows temperatures to jump into the low to mid-70s with lows in the 50s. I'm tracking a strong storm system that will be working across the Plains late in the week, sending a cold front to the western half of the state overnight Friday into Saturday. The front looks to stall out over the region on Saturday, bringing more rain and a few thunderstorms. Given the timing of this system, any severe weather is not looking likely. However, we can expect a good dose of rain between Friday night and late Saturday night, with rainfall amounts between 1-2". Showers look to exit early Sunday morning, if not before. Winds will be strong on Friday and Saturday as low level wind flow increases. That will keep winds in the 20-30 mph range through the weekend. Behind the system, temperatures drop into the low to mid-60s into Monday.
