Rain chances remain slim, drying trend will help out those along rivers in Mid-Missouri

FRIDAY: Some spotty showers and a rumble of thunder are possible today, especially between 1p-5p. Nothing widespread. Mostly along and south of I-70. Highs reach the 80s.

TONIGHT: In general we’ll see skies clear out any afternoon rain chances dwindling by 6 or 7pm. Lows are cool, in the low 60s.

EXTENDED: An area of low pressure to our southwest continues to track east, bringing heavy rain to far southern Missouri and Arkansas over the weekend. A few of these rain bands could slide back in to Mid-Missouri, bringing low rain chances to the area through early Sunday. No severe weather is expected, and the entire weekend won’t be a washout. As low pressure moves east early next week, we’ll see a drier pattern with cooler than average temperatures. As we dry out we can continue to expect river conditions to slowly improve.
