Former Saline County deputy sentenced to probation

SALINE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Former Saline County Deputy Braiden Christy received two years of supervised probation after pleading guilty to fourth-degree assault on Monday.

Christy, 33, was sentenced to one year in jail. The sentence was suspended.

Christy was accused of touching an inmate’s breasts and watching her shower while he was working for the Saline County Sheriff’s Department on July 31, 2021.

Christy was then accused of watching the victim shower by opening and closing the shower door. Once an inmate is in the shower, the door is to remain closed until the inmate knocks on the door for a jailer to let them out, according to court documents.

Investigators also found phone calls by the victim where she described the incidents from July 29, 2021, to August 3, 2021. Investigators also spoke with the victim's lawyer and mother about the incident.
