Monitoring severe storm threat for Tuesday, Finally breaking out of stormy pattern late-week

TONIGHT: It will be muggy overnight as temperatures slowly creep down into the upper 60s and low 70s . Skies will remain partly cloudy.

TUESDAY: We’ve been speaking on the potential for severe thunderstorms for Tuesday evening, fortunately at this point, the threat does NOT look high enough to issue a Weather Alert Day at this point in time. We’ll have a shot at some strong wind gusts and some hail, but in terms of any major impacts, those look to remain limited at this time. If that changes with the newest data that we get this evening, we will let you know. The main timeframe for thunderstorms looks to be between 7pm-3am Tuesday night. Highs top out in the low to mid 80s with sun throughout the late morning/early afternoon.

EXTENDED: Wednesday may bring a few thunderstorms, thankfully the severe threat looks low right now, but that could change. We will clear things out for the end of this week, Thursday and Friday, as we look to get a couple days of respite from all the thunderstorm activity. Unfortunately, long-range data indicates that we may be right back into this pattern next week. Be sure to check back with ABC 17 on-air and online for the latest forecast.
