Severe weather likely this afternoon

TUESDAY: After a few lingering showers or storms early, we will dry out breifly through mid morning. Highs reach the low to mid 70s. Severe weather is likely by lunchtime and through the evening with a line of damaging 60-70 mph winds moving through after 12 PM. Spin up tornadoes can’t be ruled out along the leading edge of the storms. A Weather Alert Day is in effect through Tuesday.

TONIGHT: Storms exit eastern mid-Missouri from 8-9 PM tonight leaving us a dry night. Skies clear quickly as temperatures drop into the mid 50s.

EXTENDED: Much of the week will be dry as an upper level ridge settles in and brings warmer air to the area for the rest of the week. Low storm chances are expected Thursday and Friday, with more organized storms possible by the weekend. Highs will be above average in the mid-80s into next week.
