Heavy rain tonight, severe weather likely Tuesday

TONIGHT: Showers and thunderstorms likely late. Heavy rain is possible, but the severe weather threat is low. There may be a few storms embedded with small hail. Overnight lows fall into the mid-50s.

TUESDAY: A few lingering showers or storms early, with ample dry time into early afternoon. Highs reach the upper 70s to around 80. Severe weather is likely by late afternoon and evening with a line of damaging 60-70 mph winds moving through during the evening commute. A Weather Alert Day is in effect through Tuesday.

EXTENDED: Severe weather will take place between 3-9PM, then storms exit to the east. Much of the week will be dry as an upper level ridge settles in and brings warmer air to the area for the rest of the week. Low storm chances are expected Thursday and Friday, with more organized storms possible by next weekend. Highs will be above average in the mid-80s into next week.
