Scattered storms return late tonight, severe threat Wednesday

TONIGHT: Scattered storms arrive late in our western counties, bringing the threat of heavy rain and isolated large hail into early Wednesday morning. Lows remain in the low 60s.

WEDNESDAY: Showers and a few thunderstorms continue through late morning. There is some uncertainty whether we’ll see more storms develop by late afternoon and evening. If skies clear out, there is a threat of severe weather for all of Mid-Missouri, and we’ll look for potential damaging winds along with heavy rain. Highs reach the mid-70s.

EXTENDED: Rain and storms exit quickly east with the cold front on Thursday, leaving behind cool air with highs only reaching the low 60s on Thursday afternoon. We stay dry through Friday and most of Saturday. A weak front slides through on Saturday night into Sunday morning, bringing the chance for a little rain. Severe weather isn’t expected this weekend.
