Jefferson City Council approves changes to bus routes

The Jefferson City Council approved changes to bus routes at its meeting Monday night.

The changes will start May 13 and affect three routes.

The black route, also known as the Capital Mall route, will have a new pickup location to prevent passengers from having to cross Truman Boulevard.

The blue and orange routes will be changed back to how they used to be because riders have said they prefer a more direct route, according to city officials.

The adjustments to the routes were previously endorsed by the Public Transit Advisory Committee and the Public Works Committee referred the proposal to City Council, according to the city’s website.
