Bird nest causes fire in Mexico, Mo.

Firefighters in Mexico put out a blaze at King’s Daughters Home residential care on Friday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the facility around 6:00 a.m. and helped staff safety evacuate residents from the building.

The Audrain Ambulance District helped care for the residents while on scene.

Firefighters said the cause was a bird nest in a roof top air-handling unit that had caught fire. There was no structural damage to the building.

No one was hurt.
