Jefferson City firefighters rescue person from car in floodwater

Firefighters in Jefferson City rescued someone from their car in floodwater, according to officials.

The Jefferson City Fire Department said in a Facebook post at 12:30 a.m. that members rescued the person on South Boulevard.

The department said a few streets in the city are flooded including Oregon Street, South Boulevard and Ohio Street along Wears Creek.

The department reminded people not to drive through flood water because it only takes a few inches to float a car.
