A Holts Summit woman suffered serious injuries Sunday afternoon when the vehicle in which she was a passenger crashed into another vehicle on Buffalo Road in Cole County just before 2:30 p.m.

According to Highway Patrol troopers, Joseph Firmin, 23, was trying to turn right onto Buffalo Road from the eastbound lanes of Highway 54 when he was hit on the passenger’s side by Joe Gray, 61.

Firmin’s car hit a curb and overturned, but troopers report he sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment.

Gray’s 64-year-old passenger, Jana Crum, sustained serious injuries and was flown to University Hospital in Columbia.
