Much cooler and mostly dry Sunday, Big time rains arrive this week

TONIGHT: Winds will remain breezy overnight, out of the north, leading to a cold start to the day Sunday. We’ll bottom out in the mid-to-upper 30s across Mid-MO. A jacket will be needed out the door.

SUNDAY: It’s a pretty cold start to the day Sunday, you’ll need the jacket through the lunch hour as temps slowly climb into the 50s. By the afternoon, we’re mild with temperatures topping out in the low-to-mid 60s. Some spot afternoon showers are possible, but more appreciable rainfall doesn’t arrive until Monday morning.

EXTENDED: Several rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms are looking likely as we head into this work week. The majority of this rain looks to fall Tuesday night into Wednesday where the potential for 1-2″+ of rain is possible, with 2-5″ of total rainfall possible by Thursday. Areal and Flash flooding is possible with these events. You’ll want to keep up to date with the latest forecasts and road closures as we head into this week.
