Moberly police seek white van after incident with child

The Moberly Police Department is looking for a white van and the man driving it after he apparently tried to pick up a child.

Moberly police received the report at about 9 a.m. Wednesday, the department said in a news release. Police were told a man driving a white box van with a woman in the back “motioned for the juvenile to get into the van” near Bertley Street and Jefferson Avenue, according to the release.

The child, whose gender police did not specify, ran and reported the incident to his or her parents, police said.

Officers could not find the van and are continuing to search for the vehicle as are other Randolph County law enforcement agencies, Moberly police said.

Police urge anyone with information to call the department at 660-263-0346.
