Mizzou turnovers result in 24-17 loss at Florida

KMIZ

GAINESVILLE, Fl. (KMIZ)

The Missouri Tigers fell 24-17 in Gainesville to now stand at 2-4 on the season and are still looking for a conference win.

Florida got on top early in the first with Brady Cook throwing a pick six to Jaydon Hill to make it 10-0 to end the first quarter.

Mizzou showed some fight before the half to tie things up courtesy of a forced fumble by DJ Coleman to set up a field goal and a short touchdown run by Cody Schrader.

The Gators pulled away in the second half and Mizzou couldn't seem to find that second half momentum.

Brady Cook finished the day 22/30 for 220 yards and two interceptions. Nate Peat had a career day on the ground with 20 carries for 117 yards and a score. Mookie Cooper was the leading receiver with four catches for 58 yards.

Up next - Mizzou has a bye week before returning to Faurot Field on Oct. 22 for the homecoming game against Vanderbilt.
