Man charged with drug trafficking felony

A Hayti man is charged with the felony of drug trafficking after police found him with 81 grams of cocaine and 24 grams of heroin.

According to the probable cause statement, officers pulled Willie Duckworth over in the parking lot of Walgreens on Missouri Boulevard. Documents said officers knew Duckworth did not have a license.

Duckworth attempted to run from the officers but fell and was arrested, according to the court documents.

According to the probable cause statement, Duckworth admitted to running away because he had cocaine in his system.

Court documents say Duckworth has been convicted four times between 1998 and 2009 for drug trafficking, delivery of drugs and resisting arrest.
