Newburg Public Schools will dismiss early Thursday due to no water

The Newburg R-II School District will dismiss classes early Thursday afternoon.

According to the Doolittle Rural Fire Protection District, the school district will release students at 12:45 p.m.

The fire department said the City of Newburg had to shut off the water at 11:30 a.m. for the rest of Thursday to fix an issue.

Newburg Public Schools Superintendent Lynne Reed told ABC 17 News the issue will not impact a three-day weekend previously planned to start Friday.
