Man accused of trying to meet minor for sex charged in Boone County
Prosecutors have filed charges in Boone County against a man accused of trying to meet a minor for sex.
Deputies said Jose C. Ramirez, 30, of Columbia, was arrested Friday after he agreed to meet an undercover detective.
According to court documents, Ramirez started messaging who he thought was a 14-year-old girl when he responded to a decoy online advertisement in March.
Deputies said Ramirez text messaged the sexual acts he wanted to perform and sent a nude photo of himself to the undercover detective.
Ramirez is charged with a felony county of enticement of a child and sexual exploitation of a minor.
