Rain/Snow likely Sunday, Quick rebound into the work week!

TONIGHT: Rain will continue to increase over the next several hours as the parent low located across the ArkLaTex continues to spin northward. We will stay all rain through much of the night, the heaviest precip will hold in our southeastern counties. Temperatures drop into the mid-30s by sunrise.

SUNDAY: We’re continuing to track a quick changeover to snow Sunday morning. Let’s think ~5am-12pm for that changeover. Thankfully air temperatures will be in the mid-upper 30s so that will slow down any accumulations and keep them to grassy surfaces and elevated surfaces like your vehicles. Some slush may accumulate on overpasses but in general, roads remain WET tomorrow morning. The bigger impact will likely be lowered visibility as the snow will come down at a moderate to even heavy rate combined with fairly large snowflakes. That may make it hard to see clearly at times. Give yourself extra time tomorrow morning and you’ll be just fine– this is more of a reminder of the winter we’re trying to put behind us! Rain/snow shuts off by lunch and temperatures quickly warm into the mid 40s tomorrow afternoon. Likely some peeks of sunshine as well.

EXTENDED: Beyond the nasty, soggy Sunday we rebound weather-wise. The start of the work week looks to entail a quick warm up with temperatures near 80 degrees Tuesday. Another powerful cyclone looks to get wrapped up across our area by the middle of the week and will bring a return to unsettled weather by Wednesday and Thursday.
