Tracking sprinkles today, and a cooldown ahead
TODAY: Wednesday brings a cold front back to mid-Missouri. Impacts of the cold front are minimal, with only an increase in cloud cover and a chance for sprinkles expected. At the most, some north of I-70 may see a quickly passing light shower, but otherwise this front is a bit noneventful. We will see a wind shift, but temperatures still climb to nearly 80 degrees this afternoon.
TONIGHT: Winds are from the northwest at about 5 mph tonight. Temperatures only fall into the low 50s and upper 40s overnight.
EXTENDED: Thursday morning, we're waking up to more sunshine and a continued north breeze. By Thursday afternoon, temperatures again reach the upper 70s, if not low 80s. A secondary cold front rolls in Thursday night, this time bringing a much bigger change. Temperatures will fall quickly into the 40s by early Friday. A breezy north wind with sustained speeds of 10-15 mph will keep us in the low 60s on Friday. Saturday morning, the cool air keeps us widely in the 30's, making widespread frost a possibility. Expect 60s and sunshine again on Saturday. We'll slowly warm from there into the 70s to start next week. Chances for showers return on Monday as our upper level pattern favors a return of gulf moisture.
