MDC repairing river pump at Eagle Bluffs, reduces duck-hunting spots

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri Department of Conservation will reduce the amount of hunting spots at Eagle Bluffs Conservation Area for duck season because of a broken river pump.

Eagle Bluffs Conservation Area has two river pumps used to draw in water to fill the pools used for hunting, according to an MDC press release.

One of the pumps is inoperable, and the necessary parts to repair the pump are unavailable due to manufacturing and shipping delays. Without the pump, some pools used for hunting reservations will not be filled.

The MDC expects repairs to start in 2023, according to a press release.

Roughly one-half to two-thirds of the normal hunting positions will be available for in-season reservations, which begins Oct. 18.
