Windy conditions expected through the next two days

TODAY: A warm front lifts north of mid-Missouri today as winds increase out of the southwest ahead of a powerful storm system that will bring rain and snow to the upper midwest. Gusty winds up to 40 mph will let temperatures climb into the low 80s. This will be the warmest day so far this year! Clouds increase through the day.

TONIGHT: It remains breezy through the night with winds out of the southeast up to 16 mph. Temperatures only dip into the low 60s under partly cloudy skies.

EXTENDED: A cold front will approach the area on Thursday, increasing clouds and giving us a chance of isolated showers and/or a few storms during the day as gusty winds continue. The front slides through Thursday evening, dropping our overnight lows into the 30s. Much cooler weather moves in to close out the week, with highs struggling to get back to 50 on Friday. The weekend will be cool with highs in the mid-50s, and a chance of rain on Sunday. The better chance of rain for the weekend lies south of I-70 with another system moving south of mid-Missouri.
