Columbia man in jail after breaking into wifes home

A Columbia man is in jail after breaking into his wife’s home.

Mark Autenreith is facing charges of burglary, domestic assault, armed criminal action and property damage.

According to a probable cause statement, Autenreith and his wife had been separated for three years at the time he broke into her home.

Documents say the wife told officers she found Autenreith in her home when she came home from work. She said he was holding a pocket knife and a kitchen knife and he threw both at her during an argument.

The documents said Autenreith admitted to hitting his wife with an open hand twice and to returning later in the day and kicking down her door.

Autenrith has a $50,000 cash only bond.
