Showers today ending, Dry Friday… More rain/storms possible this weekend

THIS AFTERNOON: We’re tracking scattered bands of showers lifting out of Mid-Missouri this afternoon. We’re not expecting any more downpours as we saw overnight, but light to moderate rain showers are not out of the question through 5 pm. Most of us are dry after 7 pm.

TONIGHT: We’ll carry deep cloud cover into the overnight hours and that will help keep today’s warmth insulated at the surface. Temperatures will be slow to drop through the 50s, and we’ll be mild to start Friday with temperatures in the upper 40s.

EXTENDED: We may see some sunshine Friday, especially later in the day, but mostly cloudy skies will be the main feature tomorrow. Temperatures will top out in the low-to-middle 60s during the afternoon. As we head into the weekend, we’ll be tracking another chance of rain. We’re still fine-tuning it, but we could be looking at showers and some storms moving back in Saturday evening and sticking around into Sunday. Looking at the latest data, there are a few ingredients that could lead to some stronger storms, especially Sunday afternoon. Rain chances move out late Sunday night, giving us a chance to dry out Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures in the middle to upper 60s.
