A soggy Thursday morning for many in Mid-Missouri

THURSDAY: Rain has moved in from the southwest this morning, with some pockets of moderate to heavy rain falling. This will continue into the morning commute, so don’t forget that umbrella this morning! Temperatures won’t warm much this afternoon, only topping out near 60 with rain and plenty of cloud cover. It will be a soggy first half of the day, but toward the afternoon, showers start to thin out in coverage. We’ll keep the chance of rain around this evening, but it will be more scattered in nature.

TONIGHT: Rain will move out later tonight, exiting the area by 10 PM. Mostly cloudy skies will be left in this recent rainfall’s wake, keeping temperatures from cooling off much overnight, into the upper 40s.

EXTENDED: We may see some sunshine Friday, but mostly cloudy skies look to win out for much of the day, with temperatures making it into the middle 60s during the afternoon. As we head into the weekend, we’ll be tracking another chance of rain. We’re still fine-tuning it, but we could be looking at showers and some storms moving back in Saturday afternoon and sticking around into Sunday. Looking at the latest data, there are a few ingredients that could lead to some stronger storms, but there remains some questions as to how and when this storm system will unfold. Rain chances move out late Sunday night, giving us a chance to dry out Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures in the middle to upper 60s.
