Shooting victim and suspect knew each other, were connected on social media

On Tuesday, Boone County deputies arrested 19-year-old Demontrion Doxley on suspicion of shooting and killing 27-year-old Javonte Roy outside of a home on Pinehurst Lane. He was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action on Wednesday. Section of Route 5 closed due to broken sewer main

MODOT officials announced on Wednesday that Missouri Route 5 in Fayette is closed because of a broken sewer main. Route 5 is closed at Morrison Street until at least Friday afternoon while repairs are made. Voters decide on Columbia school board members, $30 million bond issue
