State approves medical marijuana testing labs in Fayette, Kingdom City
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
The state health department approved business licenses for two mid-Missouri facilities to test medical marijuana products.
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services offered licenses to ClearWater Sciences, LLC of Kingdom City and Inovatia AgriTesting Services of Fayette. They make up two of the ten facilities offered business licenses to on Thursday afternoon.
Testing facilities will ensure marijuana harvested is not contaminated before it is sent to a dispensary.
ClearWater Sciences, registered to Patrick Yeager of Columbia, plans to operate its facility at 5930 Old Highway 40 in Kingdom City.
State records show Inovatia is owned by J.B. Waggoner of Fayette, with the company address listed at 116 East Davis Street.
Businesses have five days to accept the license from the state. DHSS plans to issue licenses for cultivators, infused product manufacturers, dispensaries and transporters over the next month.
The state denied applications from Trichome Labs of Columbia and CanMed Labs, LLC of Jefferson City. The two companies could still obtain a license if the state increases the limit above ten.
The state approved the applications of the following eight companies:
- Botannis Labs Mo. Corp (Springfield)
- GCA, Inc. (Herculaneum)
- EKG Life Science Solutions, LLC (St. Louis)
- Farma Laboratories LLC (Platte City)
