Woman taken to Columbia hospital after shooting in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Jefferson City officers say an 18-year-old woman was taken to a Columbia hospital after a shooting late Wednesday night.

A news release from the Jefferson City Police Department said officers were called to the area of Jefferson Street and Stadium Boulevard for reports of multiple gunshots at 10:31 p.m.

Capital Regional Medical Center staff contacted officers and said the woman came to the ER with a gunshot wound to her back. She was later transported to a Columbia hospital.

Officers say they are investigating the shooting, no arrests have been made in the case.
