Westbound Interstate 70 near Rocheport clear after crews respond to semi-truck trailer fire

8 a.m. update:
Emergency crews have cleared the scene of a semi-truck trailer fire on Interstate 70 near Rocheport.
Drivers should be able to access the westbound exit ramp to Route BB after crews closed it earlier Tuesday morning due to the fire.
Firefighters said no one was hurt.

Drivers may find delays Tuesday morning west of Columbia on Interstate 70 due to a semi-truck trailer fire.
Boone County Joint Communications alerted drivers around 5:55 a.m. about the fire in the westbound lanes near the Route BB/Rocheport exit. A MoDOT traffic camera on the department's Traveler Information Map website showed at least one FedEx trailer on fire.

No one was hurt and no other vehicles were involved in the fire, according to the Boone County Fire Protection District.
Firefighters said the semi-truck driver was able to unhook the rear trailer and the truck from the trailer that caught on fire. The driver was then able to pull the semi-truck away from the burning trailer.
Firefighters said the westbound exit to Route BB is closed while crews clear the scene.
